Folkestone becomes world’s first Music Town

Folkestone is following in the footsteps of Music Cities across the world such as Nashville, Melbourne and Seoul by becoming the world’s first Music Town.

A music town is a town that has formally recognised music as an asset capable of boosting economic growth, tourism and health and wellbeing.

It follows an extensive 18-month evaluation which included a public consultation, working groups, creation of a Music Board and online gig listing.
