SPRINGING INTO EASTER!

With a hop, skip and a jump, spring is springing and Easter is just round the corner!  Daffodils, bird song, blossom and hopefully some sunshine to go along with the Easter Bunny are all on our wish list, so we’ve put together some of the activities going on round us at this time of year.

DOCKER BAKERY SPRING FESTIVAL

Kicking things off on Saturday 29th March from 12noon-5pm, Docker Bakery is hosting Spring Festival – a day dedicated to celebrating the season with food, live music, and independent producers.

Co-hosted with Kent Food Hubs, the event will bring together some of the best local producers, artists, and businesses for a vibrant community gathering. The festival will feature live performances from Jim Riddles and Liberty, locally brewed craft beer from Docker Brewery, and a seasonal food market curated by Kent Food Hubs.

Alongside the bakery’s much-anticipated hot cross buns and other spring bakes, visitors can enjoy wood-fired pizza from Alkham Valley Pizza and other hot food offerings. In addition to food and drink, the event will host a variety of market stalls, including local produce, vintage clothing, and antiques, as well as spring-themed children’s workshops designed to get young visitors involved in creative and nature-inspired activities.

EASTER IN CHURCH

Folkestone, Hythe and the Romney Marsh is home to some of the country’s finest churches, many dating back to Norman times and even earlier.  Over the past 1000 plus years there have been many changes, as religion ebbed and flowed, the impact of Henry VIII’s Reformation and Mary I’s return to Catholicism, the Victorian era and perhaps more secular times nowadays.

Yet our churches still stand strong, and Easter will, of course be celebrated in them all!  You can read more about some of our favourite churches here: Favourite Five Churches
